  1. NOTE:  If you have downloaded this file from a BBS, then follow the steps
  2. below to successfully install the program:

  4. -Type INSTALL followed by the drive where you want RenTrack to be installed.
  5.  i.e. INSTALL C
  6. -Set FILES=100
  7. -Set BUFFERS=35
  8. -Place \GITANO_S in the PATH
  9.

  11. To run RenTrack change directory to C:\GITANO_S\RENTRACK and type RT.  You may
  12. want to print the quick reference file RENTRACK.TXT to guide you through the
  13. program.
  14. NOTE: If you installed RenTrack in a drive other than C, then follow the
  15. instructions in RENTRACK.TXT to modify RT.BAT.

  26. The quick manual that accompanies this demo needs to include some new
  27. information.  You no longer need to enter any information in the system
  28. set-up.  All specific charges must now be set up individually for each
  29. location.  Please note that a fourth page has been added to the location
  30. screens.  This allows you to tailor each location to your specific needs.

  32. There is no longer a "Receipts" menu entry.  It is now called "Receivables".
  33. It calls a sub menu with three choices:
  34.        -Rent Receipts:  Follow the instructions on page 10.
  35.        -Assisted Housing:  This is new to version 3.0.  Here you log
  36.         payments from HUD for various tenants.  The tenants are automatically
  37.         credited for the amount you enter.
  38.        -Other Receivables:  This is a very flexible receivable entry area.
  39.         You can customize your receivables by using different categories
  40.         i.e. laundry, vending machines, credit check charges, etc.
  41.         These receivables can be assigned to a vendor, a tenant, a unit,
  42.         a combination of these, or other.

  44. A number of "bugs" have been fixed since version 1.0.  We have added per
  45. customer request, new reports, additional atomization, and other goodies.
  46. We are currently working on the next version that will feature a budget and
  47. a day planner to keep track of all your appointments.  The next version will
  48. be free to all those who purchase 3.0.

  50. As you are anxious to see the Demo work, please keep in mind that you need
  51. to enter data in order for the program to work.  Please enter the data in
  52. this order:
  53.        -Location
  54.        -Unit
  55.        -Tenants
  56.        -Once you have entered the above items, it does not matter the order
  57.         in which you enter anything else.
